The idea is for the information to be a point of reference. The Features of Gothic Literature section will obviously need a bit of unpacking first, but it can then be used to help students spot patterns in and across texts. The Writing About Gothic Literature section is based around sentence stems from the Writing Revolution and should hopefully help students articulate their ideas alongside other guidance that you provide.
