They’re designed to be used as a revision resource after students have read the texts in full.
The idea is for students to read them quickly (in about ten minutes or so) to help them recall key bits. From that point onwards, they should use the white space on the right-hand side to make notes on the importance of those bits. This is something that students could do with guidance from a teacher or independently for homework or revision.
